Dog Walking is now on #2 Feedback Form!

Dog Walking is now on #2 Feedback Form! 〰️

Workshop #2 was a well managed and attended event at our fine Museum of Art.  The Teams (and the City Coastal Admin) each had outdoor booths representing all their updated designs.  We had previously met and chatted with each team, most understood our desire but felt little can be done from a political perspective within a design.  That said, we applaud Scape Landscape and Gena for adding an element they called "Dog Dunes".  In addition, Workshop #2 Feedback form is now online, and very prominently displayed is the question, "What is most important for you?"  with Walking Dogs as a checkbox selection!  Please read on for the Crazy Oh'side of this event...

RE:BEACH workshop #2 is over - time for your feedback

On the crazy side, at the Re:Beach Workshop #2, they promised a creative and collaborative event. The instructions: in groups, explore each design team's display, talk about the projects, and share your insights via post-it notes, which would be attached to their designs. In my limited creativity, the event's organizer gave us the "Yes, of course..." when asked if I may attach an Oceanside Dog Beach card in lieu of a sharpie scribbled post-it for our input.

Then, an unexpected twist occurred when one of us witnessed (aka-caught) a senior lady, obviously having a moment,  removing our "design input". With shock and disbelief, we inquired, "What are you doing? Those notes aren't yours; per instructions, they represent the design input of each participant." Her response was expected, "I don't want a dog beach, so I'm removing them."

This was unbelievably normal for me, as "stuff" happens at The South Strand HQ for Oceanside Dog Beach Inc., where pet-UNfriendly' s have stolen marketing, vandalized and inexplicably destroyed property, our dog water bowls (Sponsored by Ace Hardware, The Place!). Now seeking resolution, I reached out to the event's organizer, RCC.city, who was understandably blown away by this blatant destruction of this carefully curated event (thanks Sam and Team, we applaud a great job!). Immediately they jumped to identify this individual trying to corrupt this event, regrettably, she managed to trot off and elude capture.

This is the world we live in.  Who said it "I trust all dogs over most people"?  Thanks for everyone's support!
